Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network (CAAAN)
CAAAN is the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador Network, a group of over 6,000 alumni volunteers who assist the Cornell admissions community in recruiting superior undergraduate applicants. CAAAN members are involved in a variety of activities, the biggest of which is contacting local candidates who have submitted their application, to answer questions, provide a positive perspective on the University, and accumulate additional information about the applicant. <
Activities include:
-
helping staff college fairs
-
conducting book award programs
-
hosting receptions (including the send-off barbque)

A Message from the Co-Chairs
Dear Cornell Alumni in San Diego ,
Every August our send-off BBQ for the incoming freshmen class celebrates the end of a long process where the Cornell Club and CAAAN reach out to our community in search of prospective Cornellians. We represent the university both at college fairs and through personal meetings with applicants. We would like to extend an invitation for you to become part of this effort by joining CAAAN.
As a CAAAN member your main responsibility would be to meet with a few Cornell applicants each year. The purposes of this get-together is to help the student learn more about Cornell, and for you to learn additional information about the candidate that is not usually captured in their written application. After the conversation you can provide additional information to the admissions office on the applicant through a short written statement via an online web site.
If you would like to become a member or if you are a member that would like to get more involved, please contact one of the Co-Chairs at anytime. With the increasing number of applicants, your assistance in reaching out to more students in the community is much appreciated. Previous feedback from enrolled students has been that contact with alumni significantly influenced their decision to enroll in Cornell. We have found this to be a very rewarding experience, and hope that you will join us and realize this satisfaction as well.
We look forward to hearing back from you soon!
Best wishes from your CAAAN Co-Chairs,
Guilherme Hoefel '02 & Mei Wong '04
